A small group of friends organised a sponsored walk, near where they live in France, in aid of The Music Therapy Charity. Together they’ve raised £1,836 so far and there are still a few donations trickling in. Many thanks to Viv, Deb, Nicola and Leaza and all your sponsors, plus Eric, Del, Laurent and Jérôme for the refreshments en route and the BBQ at the end. A lovely day and an amazing result!
Huge thanks to Powick Community Choir who have chosen The Music Therapy Charity as one of their charities of the year and will be holding several concerts to raise money for us and one other charity. Their first concert, “Requiem and Revolution!”, took place on 11th April at St Martin’s Church, London Road, Worcester was a fabulous evening. Thank you to Ian De Massini who on October 25th generously performed a unique organ recital for The Music Therapy Charity, which dazzled the audience at Downing Place Cambridge. His specially arranged programme with videos and poetry included eleven pieces of music, moving between Holst’s Planets, Bach’s Air in D major, Tchaikovsky’s Arabian Dance from The Nutcracker complete with co-ordinated video of the ballet, ending with Dukas The Sorcerer’s Apprentice! £550 was raised and we are grateful to Ian and Downing Place for this opportunity.
The VoiceBox Choir, based in Oxfordshire, chose The Music Therapy Charity as their nominated Charity for 2025. They held a big concert in May, at St Mary’s Church in Witney, where they were joined by the German choir, ImTakt from Cologne. They raised almost £800 for us on that night alone! Thank you to all those in the VoiceBox Choir and ImTakt for your support.
A drama and theatre student at Box Hill School staged a ‘Night on Broadway’, where the students presented as characters from various musicals, performing their most iconic songs and engaging with the audience in a light-hearted and comedic way. They chose to raise funds at this event for The Music Therapy Charity because: “For me, I see music as such an important part of our lives. It’s ability to resonate and relieve mental, physical, and psychological issues for those who are struggling truly fascinates me—so when I heard of the work The Music Therapy Charity is doing, I felt that this charity was one I couldn’t refuse to support.” Huge thanks from us all at The Music Therapy Charity for your support and amazing succes – raising a phenomenal £1,357.50!
